Government Maintains Petrol Price at Rs252.10 Per Liter

Petrol Price Remains Unchanged, Diesel Prices Reduced

The government announced on Sunday that the price of petrol will remain unchanged at Rs252.10 per litre for the next fortnight, starting December 16 (Monday).

According to the official notification, while the petrol price stays constant, other fuel prices have been reduced:

  • High-speed diesel (HSD): Decreased by Rs3.05, now priced at Rs255.38 per litre.
  • Kerosene oil: Reduced by Rs3.32, setting the new price at Rs161.66 per litre.
  • Light diesel: Dropped by Rs2.78, with the revised price at Rs148.95 per litre.

Recent Price Changes

Earlier this month, the finance ministry had increased fuel prices for the fortnight starting December 1 (Sunday):

  • Petrol: Increased by Rs3.72, reaching Rs252.10 per litre.
  • High-speed diesel (HSD): Rose by Rs3.29, bringing the price to Rs258.43 per litre.

The latest adjustments reflect efforts to manage petroleum prices in response to global oil market trends.
