Punjab Excise Department Launches Vanity Number Plates Project with Bidding System

The Punjab Excise Department has officially rolled out its new vanity number plates project, enabling citizens to personalize their vehicle registration plates through an innovative online bidding system.

The launch event was held at Alhamra Hall in Lahore, with key officials in attendance.

Personalized Vehicle Plates through Bidding

Excise Secretary Masood Mukhtar explained that the new initiative allows citizens to have their names inscribed on their vehicle plates via the vanity scheme. “There has been a great deal of interest in this project, with many people eager to secure their preferred number plates through the online bidding system,” Mukhtar shared. He further mentioned that the scheme offers three categories for applicants: Platinum, Gold, and Corporate, catering to a diverse range of interests.

Extended Application Deadline

To accommodate more participants, Mukhtar announced the extension of the application deadline, ensuring that a broader audience can take part in the bidding process.

Revenue Generation and Transparency

Excise Director General Umar Sher Chattha highlighted that the vanity number plates initiative will not only offer personalized options for citizens but also generate significant revenue for the national treasury. The online bidding system ensures a transparent and accessible platform for acquiring these plates.

Through this project, the Punjab Excise Department aims to provide a unique and efficient service while contributing to the economy.
