A beggar family in Pakistan’s ‘City of Wrestlers’ stunned everyone by spending Rs1.25 Crore on a lavish ‘Chaliswan’ ceremony for their grandmother. The event, held near Rahwali Railway Station in the Cantt area, drew thousands from across Punjab, sparking questions about its opulence and the family’s ability to fund such an extravagant celebration.
The ceremony began with a traditional “siri paye” breakfast and culminated in an elaborate feast with 250 goats slaughtered to prepare a variety of dishes, including mutton, naan, sweet rice, and cold beverages. Guests enjoyed the lavish spread in private marquees, surrounded by a luxurious atmosphere.

Despite the family’s reputation for begging, their ability to host such a grand event has raised concerns about the source of the money used.
