In the U.S., over 80,000 outage reports were logged, with complaints peaking at 88,700 by 9:30 PM, according to DownDetector. The hashtag #NetflixCrash trended on X as users shared memes and criticism, expressing their disappointment. Netflix has yet to release an official statement on the matter.
Though disruptions continued into the main event, which began after 11 PM, the volume of complaints appeared to subside. The fight, held at AT&T Stadium in Texas, showcased boxing legend Mike Tyson, 58, against YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, 27, attracting a large global audience.
