New Zealand Clean Sweeps India In Test Series

This marks the first time India has ever been whitewashed 3-0 in a home Test series.

New Zealand’s remarkable turnaround after losing 2-0 in Sri Lanka is impressive, starting with their historic first Test win in India. After clinching their first series victory in India, they continued their momentum with an impressive win in the third Test at Wankhede.

With India needing just 147 runs in the fourth innings, they faced another batting collapse, a recurring issue throughout this Test series. Rishabh Pant fought valiantly, scoring a commendable 64 runs, but it wasn’t sufficient as the Indian batsmen struggled against Ajaz Patel and Glenn Phillips.

This defeat significantly impacted India’s chances of qualifying for the World Test Championship, as they must win 4 out of their last 5 Tests, all against Australia, to reach their third consecutive final.

In the meantime, New Zealand is set for a three-match series against England, needing another three victories to have a shot at making their second WTC final.
