Hajj 2025 Pakistan Unveils New Health Policy

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has implemented a new health policy for Hajj pilgrims, aligning with the updated conditions mandated by the Saudi government. Key points of the policy include:

  • Health Restrictions: Individuals with serious health conditions, such as cancer, heart, kidney, and respiratory diseases, will not be allowed to perform the pilgrimage this year. Additionally, those undergoing dialysis, suffering from recent heart attacks, experiencing shortness of breath, or having lung diseases are prohibited from participating.
  • Medical Certification: All pilgrims must submit a medical certificate to confirm their eligibility for the pilgrimage. The restrictions also extend to individuals with liver failure, serious neurological or psychiatric disorders, physical disabilities, memory loss, and amnesia.
  • Pregnancy and Communicable Diseases: Pregnant women beyond seven months are barred from undertaking the Hajj. Individuals with communicable diseases, including tuberculosis, cancer patients, and those recovering from recent infections such as influenza, dengue, or COVID-19, are also restricted.
  • Vaccination Requirements: Mandatory vaccination certificates for meningitis, influenza, COVID-19, and polio are now required as part of the new guidelines.
