Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement and Awami National Party activists greeted him enthusiastically. The South Waziristan congressman and PTM leader visited Tajazai briefly and attended a ceremony held in his honour along the Indus Highway after being freed from prison in Karachi.
PTM, ANP, and Pakhtun Students Federation activists shouted anti-terrorism and pro-peace slogans during the event. Mr. Wazir addressed the employees and urged the Pakhtuns to work for peace and put an end to lawlessness in their area.
He insisted that “peace will bring wealth to the region” and said Bacha Khan and Wali Khan, who adhered to the nonviolent ideology, would be supported in their ideas and visions for bringing enduring peace and sustainable development to the Pakhtun region.
The legislator thanked the citizens and urged them to participate actively in restoring peace and normalcy to the region by attending a public forum that would be conducted in North Waziristan on February 26 (Sunday).
