Rawalpindi Declares ‘Dengue Emergency’ Amid Rising Cases

Rawalpindi has declared a ‘Dengue Emergency’ as the number of cases continues to rise, with six deaths and 2,277 reported infections in the last month and a half. The situation has prompted authorities to take urgent action.

In the past 24 hours alone, 134 new dengue cases were recorded, bringing the total number of patients needing treatment to 268. This surge has raised concerns about the city’s healthcare capacity to manage the outbreak effectively.

Mobile health units have been deployed, examining 4,109 patients so far and providing free medications to help combat the spread of the disease. These units aim to reach as many affected individuals as possible and control the outbreak.
