SC Orders Widow’s Property Transfer After 26 Years, Fines Opponents for False Claims

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has directed the immediate transfer of a widow’s inherited property following 26 years of fraudulent litigation. Additionally, the court imposed a Rs 500,000 fine on the opposing parties for presenting false testimonies and filing fake claims aimed at denying the widow her rightful inheritance.

Chief Justice Isa, during the hearing, condemned the unwarranted complexity of the case, which should have been a simple inheritance matter, and stressed, “The practice of depriving women of their inheritance must come to an end.”
