Karachi will host the first four matches between September 20 and 25. The series will then shift to Lahore for the final three games, running from September 28 to October 2.
On September 8, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi addressed concerns about the upcoming Test series between Pakistan and England. There were media reports suggesting a possible venue shift to the UAE due to stadium renovations in Pakistan.
England head coach Brendon McCullum expressed frustration about the uncertainty, stating that they couldn’t finalize their team without clarity on the venues.
In response, Naqvi confirmed that the Test series will proceed in Pakistan, with matches scheduled in Multan and Rawalpindi. He assured that the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is satisfied with these arrangements.
This Test series, part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25, is set to take place from October 7 to 28.
Naqvi also confirmed that Pakistan will host the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025, despite uncertainty surrounding India’s participation, as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is awaiting government approval for their visit.
Renovations at the Karachi and Rawalpindi venues are raising concerns, and there have been suggestions to move one or more Test matches to the UAE or Sri Lanka. The ECB is waiting for more information before making a final decision.
