An abandoned theme park in the UK is set to become the stage for a spine-chilling Halloween spectacle as it hosts the popular Scare City event. This annual event, now in its fifth year, will transform the derelict Camelot theme park in Chorley, Lancashire, into a horror-filled landscape.

Organisers promise that visitors will leave “believing in pure evil” after navigating the award-winning scare-fest, which features 11 terrifying zones hidden within the abandoned park. The event is described as “bigger, better, and bloodier than ever before,” according to a report from the Daily Star.

This year’s scare zones include the infamous Slaughter House, where Camelot’s resident cannibal hosts his annual dinner party, the sinister Junkyard, and the bone-chilling Reaper’s Reach. A new zone, ‘Arakhne,’ will challenge visitors to enter the spider queen’s web and confront eerie creatures along the way.

For a mid-way respite, the ‘Resurrection Zone’ offers food and drinks, allowing visitors to recharge before diving back into the horror-filled attractions.

Originally launched as a drive-in cinema event in Manchester in 2020, Scare City has gained popularity and was recently named Best Scare Attraction of 2023 by ScareTrack. The event features a variety of zones including Slaughterhouse, Carnivalley, Arakhne, Basilica of Galgani, Infirmary, Reaper’s Ranch, Junkyard, Vallis Mortis, Resurrection Zone, and Contained.

Scare City will commence on Saturday, September 26, and run until mid-November, offering weeks of fright-filled entertainment for thrill-seekers.
