In Lahore, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a flood warning for areas including Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, and Rajanpur due to anticipated heavy rainfall in the mountainous regions of Koh-e-Suleiman. The Meteorological Department has forecasted torrential rains in the hilly areas, potentially leading to medium-level flooding on July 12 and 13. As a precautionary measure, a flood alert has been issued for the rivers in Punjab, urging district administrations to remain vigilant and implement necessary precautionary measures.
Punjab Relief Commissioner Nabeel Javed has instructed relevant district administrations to maintain high alertness and prepare for the possible relocation of residents and livestock to safer areas.

He assured the public that the Punjab government is fully prepared to assist affected citizens and their livestock, emphasizing preemptive measures to handle any potential flood situation as directed by the Chief Minister of Punjab. Javed urged residents to evacuate promptly if necessary and cooperate with authorities during emergencies. Furthermore, he highlighted the availability of PDMA’s helpline, 1129, which operates 24/7 to provide assistance in case of any emergency.
