[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) has decided to postpone the annual ninth and tenth class examinations for the year 2024 due to the forecast of heatwaves in parts of Sindh.
The board issued a notification stating that, in light of the heatwave alert issued by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Mr. Muhammad Ali Malkani, the Controlling Authority of Sindh Boards of Education and Minister of the Universities & Board Department, Government of Sindh, has ordered the postponement.

The SSC Part I & II 1st Annual Examination-2024, originally scheduled from May 21 to May 27, have been postponed, and exams are now set to resume from May 28 onwards. The revised schedule for the postponed papers will be issued later.
Earlier, the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) postponed intermediate exams due to the severe heatwave forecasted by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) affecting major cities and plains in Punjab and Sindh from May 21 to May 27.
PMD has issued a severe heatwave warning for parts of the country, including Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan, during the next 10 days. Warm winds and high temperatures have been observed in Lahore, Karachi, and other major cities, with Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu, and Jacobabad experiencing the highest temperatures in the region.
PMD has forecasted that heatwave conditions will persist from May 21st to May 27th, with daytime temperatures remaining significantly above normal in Sindh and Punjab.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
