The decision to release these detainees was reached during discussions between the Iranian President and Pakistani officials.
All of these prisoners had their sentences suspended, and they have been sent back to Pakistan, according to the Iranian Embassy in Islamabad. President Dr. Ebrahim Raisi concluded his three-day visit to Pakistan, where he met with the country’s leadership and paid homage at the mausoleums of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Governor Kamran Khan Tessori saw President Raisi off at Karachi airport. Additionally, President Raisi held talks with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Syed Asim Munir, President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Both nations expressed their intent to increase bilateral trade to $10 billion during the visit, highlighting the importance of their historical and religious ties. President Raisi emphasized the mutual desire for peace and prosperity in the region, emphasizing that enhanced economic cooperation would benefit both countries.
