Asif Ali Zardari is scheduled to be inaugurated as the President of Pakistan on Sunday. The swearing-in ceremony will take place at 4 pm at Aiwan-e-Sadr, where Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa will administer the oath of office to the newly-elected president.
Prominent figures attending the high-profile ceremony include Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, service chiefs, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, governors, chief ministers, and top diplomats.

Zardari, who serves as the PPP Co-chairman and a veteran politician, secured a decisive victory in the elections, outpacing PTI-backed candidate Mahmood Achakzai by a significant margin. With the support of allied parties, Zardari garnered 411 electoral votes in parliament and all four provincial assemblies.
In the National Assembly, Zardari obtained 225 votes compared to Achakzai’s 119 votes. In Sindh, he secured 53 votes against his opponent’s three. The Punjab Assembly saw Zardari receive 43 votes, while in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, he earned eight votes. In the Balochistan Assembly, Zardari garnered 47 votes, while his rival secured none.
This marks Zardari’s second term as president, having previously served as the 11th president of Pakistan from 2008 to 2013. He has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since August 2018.
