ECP Denies SIC Request For Reserved Seats

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]On Monday, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) rejected a petition from the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) that sought the allocation of reserved seats. This decision comes after PTI-supported lawmakers, who secured victory without their designated symbol, formed an alliance with the SIC. Subsequently, the SIC approached the ECP, requesting reserved seats in the national and three provincial assemblies, excluding Balochistan.

Despite considering arguments presented by all parties involved, the commission deferred its decision until Wednesday, a day before the inaugural session of the National Assembly.
