The election watchdog announced that the nomination papers would be scrutinised on February 9 and that candidates would receive their election insignia on February 23.
In an effort to help Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif win the confidence vote just announced by the party’s chairman Imran Khan, the NA speaker accepted the resignations of 34 PTI members and one AML member earlier this month.
On April 11 of last year, 123 PTI MNAs collectively resigned, two days after their party’s chairman was removed as prime minister following a no-confidence vote.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
