[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]On Thursday, President Dr. Arif Alvi urged the government to “desist and restrain itself” from detaining any well-known figures since doing so could “catapult the country into more instability.”

According to a press statement from the President’s Secretariat, he made the comments to journalists located in Lahore at Governor House. Although the president avoided mentioning any specific politicians, the remarks come in the wake of PTI’s Fawad Chaudhry’s imprisonment.

Rumors about the possible arrest of PTI Chairman Imran Khan have also been circulating. To support their leader, PTI members and leaders set up camp outside Imran’s Zaman Park home on Wednesday.
