PFF Launches High-Quality Referee Assessor Course

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has introduced the inaugural ‘Referee Assessor Online Workshop,’ marking a significant milestone in the history of football in Pakistan. Conducted by FIFA referee instructor Suresh Srinivasan, the workshop aims to provide training to referee assessors across various districts and territories in Pakistan.

The primary objective of this workshop is to establish a network of referee assessors who will evaluate the performance of referees in different regions of the country. Given the ongoing All-Pakistan District Championship (APDC) in numerous parts of Pakistan, PFF Normalization Committee (NC) Chairperson Haroon Malik highlighted the need for monitoring the performances of referees, with over 800 matches having been played in the APDC in recent months.

The workshop is anticipated to enhance the standard of refereeing in the country by leveraging the expertise of an internationally recognized assessor. This training will empower professionals to potentially represent Pakistan on the international stage once they attain the required levels set by the AFC (Asian Football Confederation) and FIFA.

The PFF NC, initially mandated to conduct elections in the country, emerged due to the Supreme Court of Pakistan acting as a third party, a role not permitted by FIFA, in the previous Chairman elections, resulting in FIFA’s ban on the federation. Although Haroon Malik’s tenure concludes in March 2024, an extension is likely to be granted to facilitate the completion of district, provincial, and federation elections.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
