PSX Sets Records As KSE-100 Surpasses 59,000 First Time

On Friday, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) achieved a new all-time high, surpassing the previous record of 58,899. The benchmark KSE-100 index showed a 1% increase or 599 points at 10:10 AM, reaching a new peak of 59,499. By 2:33 PM, it settled at 59,407, up 0.86% or 507 points, concluding the day with a gain of 186 points and closing at 59,086.

The KMI 30 index decreased by 180 points, settling at 100,002, while the KSE All-share index slightly rose by 85 points, closing at 39,559. The market displayed robust activity, with a total trading volume of 658 million shares valued at Rs. 22 billion.

Worldcall Telecom Limited (PSX: WTL) witnessed the highest participation, with over 66 million shares traded, followed by Pakistan International Bulk Terminal (PSX: PIBTL) and TPL Properties Limited (PSX: TPLP), with 38.9 million shares and 27.4 million shares traded, respectively.

Internationally, oil prices experienced a dip, with Brent crude increasing by 0.22% to $81.6 per barrel, while WTI crude fell by 0.64% to $76.61 per barrel, influenced by mixed signals from oil producers and negative sentiments from the Middle East.
