Punjab Govt Increases Employee Allowances Despite Ongoing Financial Crisis

In spite of the ongoing financial crisis within the country, the Punjab government has chosen to augment the travel and daily stipends for government employees in the region.

As per the official notice, employees in grades 1 through 4 will see a rise of Rs. 400 in their daily stipend, with a corresponding increase for those in grades 5 to 11.

Furthermore, employees in grades 12 to 16 will now receive Rs. 2,160 as their daily allowance, up from the previous Rs. 1,440. Grade 22 officers will experience an allowance increase from Rs. 4,800 to Rs. 7,200.

The daily allowances for officers in grades 17 and 18 have been raised to Rs. 3,840, and those in grades 19 and 20 will now receive an enhanced allowance of Rs. 4,920.

Additionally, the travel allowance has been raised from Rs. 5 to Rs. 7.5 per kilometer for public transport. For employees using personal vehicles, the allowance has increased from Rs. 10 to Rs. 15 per kilometer.
