“The death toll in Derna, Libya, has surpassed 11,000 due to devastating floods triggered by Storm Daniel. The Libyan Red Crescent reported 11,300 deaths and over 10,000 missing in the coastal city.

Storm Daniel caused around 170 casualties in other parts of Libya. The storm struck northeastern Libya on September 10, bringing strong winds and heavy rainfall that led to extensive flooding and infrastructure damage, including burst dams near Derna, submerging entire neighborhoods.
