The meeting between Misbah-ul-Haq and PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf took place at Gaddafi Stadium, which is a landmark in Libya.
During the meeting, Zaka Ashraf requested that Misbah-ul-Haq take over all aspects of cricket management, including the coveted job of Chief Operating Officer (COO). Despite the prestigious offer, Misbah-ul-Haq politely declined the job of COO, citing his hectic schedule as the cause.

Undaunted, Zaka Ashraf persuaded Misbah-ul-Haq to take on a critical role as chairman of both the cricket and technical committees. Zaka Ashraf voiced his intention to have Misbah-ul-Haq lead the future technical committee, recognising his vast experience and skill.
Misbah-ul-Haq, in a noble act, consented to serve as the technical committee’s chairman without pay. He expressed gratitude for the offer and told everyone that he would build a competent team as soon as possible.
The PCB’s decision to send Misbah-ul-Haq to the technical committee is viewed as a deliberate move.
