Ghulam Sarwar arrested

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]According to police reports, former aviation minister Ghulam Sarwar was apprehended in Islamabad on Wednesday. 

According to a police source, the former PTI minister was wanted by authorities for his involvement in the May 9 violence. 

On May 9, a large number of PTI workers and supporters staged nearly nationwide protests after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan was arrested by paramilitary troops on the orders of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in connection with an alleged Al-Qadir Trust corruption case.

Demonstrators vandalised public and private property, attacked military buildings, including the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi and the Lahore Corps Commander’s House (Jinnah House), and looted martyrs’ relics.

Following the incidents, the civil and military leadership decided to punish all individuals participating in hooliganism, arson, ransacking of public and private assets, attacking sensitive military sites, and vandalism of martyrs’ monuments on May 9 with exemplary punishment under the Army Act.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
