[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]According to the official Economic Survey document for 2022-23, Pakistan’s sports industry had a significant increase in athletic goods exports over the previous fiscal year.
The value of sporting goods exports climbed 17.8 percent from $259.9 million in 2021-22 to $306.1 million in 2022-23.
The boost was mostly attributed to the football manufacturing industry, which recorded a 36.5 percent gain in both number and value.
The FIFA World Cup, which was held in Qatar last year, boosted Pakistan’s football sector, with made-in-Pakistan footballs being utilised for the huge event. Pakistan produces over 70% of the footballs used in international games.

“Pakistan produces high-quality hand-stitched footballs with uncompromised quality of the football, its price, and its performance,” according to the Economic Survey.
Previously, the football manufacturing business saw a 37.8 percent growth in overall football exports in 2021-22 compared to the 2020-21 fiscal year.
Meanwhile, glove exports fell precipitously, with a 32.2 percent drop in number and a 7.5 percent drop in value.
Sports Goods, Surgical Goods, Medical Goods, and Engineering Goods were the best-performing industries during the last year, with many other manufacturing industries reporting a fall in exports.
