Gold prices in Pakistan fell on Thursday, September 10, 2026, following a decline in international gold prices. The latest drop came after the precious metal had gained Rs800 in the previous session.
The price of 24-karat gold decreased by Rs600 per tola, bringing the new rate to Rs462,336 per tola. The decline has reversed part of Wednesday’s increase, when gold closed at Rs462,936 per tola.
The price of 10-gram gold also declined on Thursday. It fell by Rs515 to reach Rs396,378. The movement reflects the changes seen in the local bullion market as international gold prices also came under pressure.
In the international market, gold lost $6 per ounce and settled at $4,398 per ounce, including a $20 premium. International gold prices remain closely linked to movements in the US dollar, interest rate expectations and global economic and geopolitical developments.
The latest decline comes as global markets continue to closely monitor economic developments that could influence future interest rate decisions. Gold is particularly sensitive to changes in interest rate expectations because investors often compare the precious metal with interest-bearing assets when making investment decisions.
Pakistan’s local gold market also tends to respond to international price movements. Changes in the rupee-dollar exchange rate and local market conditions can further influence the final price of gold in the country.
Gold had recorded an increase of Rs800 on Wednesday, reaching Rs462,936 per tola. Thursday’s decline therefore brought the price back closer to the levels seen earlier in the week.
Meanwhile, silver prices also moved lower in Pakistan. The price of silver declined by Rs17 per tola to reach Rs7,124 on Thursday.
The latest movement in gold and silver prices is likely to remain important for investors, jewellers and consumers. Gold continues to be widely considered a traditional store of value in Pakistan, while daily price changes can affect both investment decisions and jewellery purchases.
With international gold prices remaining volatile, local rates could continue to change in response to global market movements and currency conditions. Investors and consumers are therefore likely to keep a close watch on the next bullion market update.
