Indian comedian Samay Raina has addressed recent dating rumours involving fellow comedian Sharon Verma, making it clear that the two are not romantically involved.
Raina responded to the speculation during an Instagram Ask Me Anything session after a fan directly questioned him about his relationship with Verma. Dismissing the rumours, the comedian said, “No brother, just internet doing its thing.”
His response comes after an episode of India’s Got Latent Season 2 featured a playful interaction between Raina and Verma that caught the attention of viewers and quickly sparked discussion on social media.

The dating rumours surrounding Raina and Verma appear to have originated from their on-screen chemistry during an episode of India’s Got Latent.
Verma appeared as a panellist on the show alongside Orry and Archana Puran Singh. During the episode, she and Raina exchanged jokes while discussing their respective Bihari and Kashmiri backgrounds.
Their lighthearted banter and noticeable on-screen interaction led some viewers to speculate that there could be more than friendship between the two comedians.
Social media users subsequently began sharing romantic edits featuring Raina and Verma, further amplifying the speculation.

BJP MLA Ram Kadam criticised remarks made during the exchange, arguing that controversial comments should not be used simply to gain publicity.
Kadam specifically objected to what he described as references that treated Hindu deities and Kashmiri Pandits as subjects of ridicule.

Viewers also pointed to Raina’s treatment of Shankr during a roast, claiming that he appeared to go easier on her compared with some of the other participants.

Similarly, Raina’s latest clarification means the rumours involving Sharon Verma remain unsupported.

The latest dating speculation comes as India’s Got Latent continues its second season following the major controversy that surrounded the programme during its first season.
The show faced significant backlash last year after YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia made controversial remarks during a Season 1 episode. The incident resulted in police complaints and FIRs involving Allahbadia, Raina and others associated with the programme.
Following the controversy, Raina removed the show’s episodes from YouTube.
The second season, launched this year, has continued to attract substantial public interest. However, some viewers have criticised the newer episodes for appearing more heavily filtered compared with the show’s earlier content.
Despite the criticism, the programme continues to generate strong engagement online, with one episode reportedly crossing four crore views within 24 hours.
