Children of Capital Development Authority (CDA) employees will receive significant education-related fee concessions at the Global System of Integrated Studies (GSIS) under a newly signed agreement.
The initiative was introduced through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the CDA Officers Association and Global System of Integrated Studies (Pvt) Ltd. The agreement aims to provide education benefits to CDA employees and their families.
Under the arrangement, eligible children of regular CDA employees will receive a 50% discount on monthly tuition fees, allowing them to attend the institution at half of the standard monthly tuition cost.
Admission and security fees waived
The agreement provides several financial benefits beyond the monthly tuition discount.
GSIS will waive one-time admission fees for children of regular CDA employees. The institution will also waive refundable security deposits that would otherwise be payable at the time of admission.
The concessions are expected to reduce the upfront financial burden on families when enrolling their children at the institution.
In addition to the fee waivers, eligible students will receive preferential treatment during the admissions process.
Priority admission for CDA employees’ children
Children covered under the agreement will receive priority during admissions.
They will also be given preference on the waiting list ahead of applicants from the general public.
The arrangement is intended to provide CDA employees with greater certainty when seeking admission for their children, particularly where seats at the institution are limited.
The agreement therefore combines direct financial assistance with improved access to available places at GSIS.
Students to receive access to academic facilities
Despite receiving fee concessions, students enrolled under the agreement will continue to have access to GSIS facilities and activities.
According to the agreement, eligible students will be able to use the institution’s academic facilities, co-curricular activities and student development programs on the same basis as regular fee-paying students.
This means the concessions will not limit their participation in the broader academic and extracurricular environment of the institution.
The arrangement is designed to provide CDA employees’ children with access to educational opportunities while reducing the financial costs associated with their schooling.
CDA Officers Association welcomes initiative
CDA Officers Association General Secretary Chaudhary Kamran Bakht said the agreement would help reduce the financial burden on CDA employees.
The initiative is being viewed as a welfare measure aimed at supporting employees and their families, particularly at a time when education expenses can represent a significant household cost.
By reducing monthly tuition as well as eliminating certain admission-related charges, the agreement provides multiple forms of financial relief to eligible families.
CDA Member Estate terms agreement important welfare step
CDA Member Estate Muhammad Zaman Watto described the agreement as an important welfare initiative for CDA employees and their families.
The agreement reflects efforts to provide employees with additional benefits beyond their regular employment arrangements.
Education support can be particularly valuable for families because school-related expenses include not only monthly tuition but also admission and other institutional charges.
The new arrangement addresses several of these costs for eligible CDA employees’ children.
GSIS pledges effective implementation
GSIS Principal and Director Administration Quratulain Ali Rizvi said the institution would make efforts to ensure that the agreement is implemented effectively.
The successful implementation of the MoU will determine how eligible CDA employees and their children access the announced concessions and admission preferences.
The agreement is expected to provide a structured framework for CDA employees seeking educational opportunities for their children at GSIS.
Broader employee welfare benefits
The new education arrangement brings together several benefits, including a 50% monthly tuition discount, waiver of admission fees and refundable security deposits, and priority in admissions and waiting lists.
At the same time, eligible students will continue to participate in academic, co-curricular and student development activities alongside other students.
For CDA employees, the initiative could help lower the overall cost of their children’s education while providing improved access to the institution.
The agreement between the CDA Officers Association and GSIS represents a targeted employee welfare measure, with both organizations expected to work toward effective implementation of the concessions.
