The PKR closed at 277.50 against the US Dollar. It gained one paisa during Friday’s trading session.
The rupee has maintained its upward trend against the dollar since December 25, 2025. This marks a prolonged period of consistent gains for the local currency.

PKR Performance Against Major Currencies
The PKR remained stable against both the UAE Dirham and Saudi Riyal on Friday. There was no significant movement against either currency.
The local currency recorded a one-paisa gain against the British Pound. It also strengthened by 19 paisas against the Euro.
However, the PKR weakened against some other major currencies. It lost 24 paisas against the Australian Dollar.
The rupee also declined by 39 paisas against the Canadian Dollar. These movements show mixed performance across international currency markets.
According to the reported exchange rates, the US Dollar stood at 277.5015 on August 28, 2026. The rate was 277.5146 on August 27.
The Euro was recorded at 323.1644 on Friday. It had stood at 323.3600 during the previous reported session.
The British Pound was valued at 377.0274. Its previous rate was 377.0452.
The Australian Dollar increased to 199.6624 from 199.4220. This reflected a 24-paisa decline for the PKR.
The Canadian Dollar reached 200.2826. It was previously recorded at 199.8881.
The UAE Dirham stood at 75.5579 on Friday. The Saudi Riyal was recorded at 73.9117.
The latest data indicates that the PKR remains broadly stable against key international currencies. Its continued performance against the US Dollar remains particularly notable.
The 228-day winning streak represents an extended period of currency stability. The trend has continued despite varying movements against other major currencies.
