The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast a new spell of monsoon weather from August 27, with thunderstorms and showers expected in Islamabad and other areas.
Islamabad is expected to remain hot and mostly dry on August 25. Partly cloudy conditions may continue, with the temperature reaching around 35°C.
The capital could become warmer on August 26, with temperatures expected to rise to around 36°C. Weather conditions are then expected to change as the new system develops.
Residents may experience stronger winds as the weather system approaches. The latest forecast comes as concerns remain over heavy rainfall and urban flooding in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Punjab.
Authorities have also warned about possible landslides in mountainous areas. Residents and tourists have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rainfall.
People living in low-lying and hilly areas have been urged to remain cautious. Such areas can face increased risks of flooding, water accumulation and landslides during intense rain.

In Lahore, hot and humid weather is expected to continue. According to the provided forecast, significant rainfall is not expected in the city during the current week.
The new weather system is expected to bring stronger weather activity to northern and upper parts of the country. Islamabad and nearby areas remain among the regions being watched closely.
The possibility of thunderstorms and strong winds means residents should remain alert during changing weather conditions. Loose structures and outdoor objects may also require additional caution during strong winds.
Travelers heading toward hilly areas have been advised to monitor weather updates before starting their journeys. Landslides can create sudden hazards on mountain roads during heavy rainfall.
