Pakistan’s call center sector has achieved its highest annual export earnings. The sector earned $392 million during the financial year 2025-26.
The latest figure represents a 19% increase from the previous year. Call center exports stood at $329 million during financial year 2024-25.
According to State Bank of Pakistan data, earnings increased by $63 million in one year. The latest result marks the highest export receipts recorded by the sector.
The growth comes as companies increasingly adopt artificial intelligence tools. AI is helping businesses improve their services and reach more international clients.
AI Supports Sector Expansion
Call Centers Association of Pakistan President Adeel Azhar highlighted the growing use of AI. He said AI is increasing the capacity of call centers and business process outsourcing firms.
These technologies are helping Pakistani companies offer more services internationally. Businesses are also exploring new markets beyond their traditional customer base.
Pakistan’s call center companies are increasingly targeting Middle Eastern and European markets. AI-based systems are making it easier to expand services for overseas customers.
Azhar expects the sector’s foreign exchange earnings to continue growing. He also expects a larger contribution to Pakistan’s overall IT-enabled services exports.
United States Remains Largest Market
The United States continues to be the biggest market for Pakistan’s call center services. It accounts for nearly 70% of the sector’s business.
Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia are also major markets. These countries provide significant demand for Pakistani call center and outsourcing services.
More than 1,000 call centers are registered with the Pakistan Software Export Board. Another 500 sizeable centers operate across different cities.
Around 90% of these businesses serve foreign clients. The remaining centers mainly provide services to multinational companies and domestic utility providers.
Sector Employs More Than One Million People
Pakistan’s call center industry also includes smaller operations. Many of these operate within software houses, digital agencies, and e-commerce businesses.
Together, these companies employ more than one million people. The sector also strengthens Pakistan’s position as an outsourcing destination.
However, the industry has faced reputational problems in recent years. Some call centers have been linked to alleged fraud and other illicit activities.
Government ministries and law enforcement agencies have increased action against such businesses. Authorities are targeting companies involved in scams and fraudulent operations.
The sector’s record export earnings highlight its growing role in Pakistan’s services economy. Continued technology adoption could support further growth in international markets.
