President Asif Ali Zardari and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday reviewed Pakistan’s overall law and order situation, with special focus on the security challenges facing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
The meeting was held in Karachi, where Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi briefed the president on the country’s prevailing security environment, ongoing counterterrorism efforts, and operations being conducted by security forces in the two provinces.
During the briefing, Naqvi shared updates on measures being taken to strengthen national security and maintain peace in areas affected by militant activity. The discussion also covered the progress of operations aimed at countering terrorism and improving the overall security situation.
President Zardari paid tribute to the Pakistan Army, law enforcement agencies, and police for their professionalism, courage, and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. He praised the role of security personnel who continue to work to protect the country and maintain public safety.
The president said the entire nation stands firmly behind its armed forces and law enforcement agencies in the collective effort to eliminate terrorism and ensure lasting peace across Pakistan.
He emphasized the importance of continuing coordinated security operations and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting institutions responsible for safeguarding national security.
In addition to the security briefing, President Zardari and Interior Minister Naqvi also discussed the country’s current political situation and exchanged views on other important national matters of mutual interest.
The meeting comes as Pakistan continues efforts to strengthen counterterrorism operations and improve the security environment, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, where authorities remain focused on tackling militant threats and maintaining stability.
The government has repeatedly stressed the importance of close coordination between civilian leadership, security institutions, and law enforcement agencies to address evolving security challenges and protect the country’s peace and stability.
