The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a fresh weather advisory for several parts of the country. The department has forecast rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms over the next four to six hours in many regions of Pakistan.
According to the advisory released at 3:40 PM PST on July 21, 2026, several districts in Punjab are expected to receive rainfall. The forecast includes Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Layyah, Dera Ghazi Khan, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Lahore, Kasur, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, and Bahawalnagar. Nearby areas may also experience similar weather conditions.
The PMD said these areas could see rain accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorms. Residents have been advised to remain cautious as sudden weather changes may affect travel and outdoor activities.
The latest forecast also covers several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Rain and thunderstorms are expected in Peshawar, Swabi, Charsadda, Waziristan, Kalam, Karak, Tank, Swat, Nowshera, Kohat, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, and Dera Ismail Khan. Neighboring areas may also receive rainfall during the forecast period.
In Balochistan, the weather system is likely to bring rain and thunderstorms to Quetta, Zhob, Musakhel, Barkhan, and surrounding locations. Authorities have advised residents to stay informed about changing weather conditions.
The forecast extends to the northern regions as well. Parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are also expected to receive rain over the next several hours. These mountainous regions often experience rapidly changing weather during the monsoon season.
The PMD has warned that isolated locations could receive heavy rainfall. Such weather may increase the risk of flash flooding in local streams and low-lying areas. People living near vulnerable locations have been advised to remain alert.
Heavy rainfall can also affect road conditions, especially in hilly regions. Drivers are encouraged to travel carefully and avoid flooded roads where possible. Authorities may issue additional advisories if weather conditions become more severe.
