Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday inaugurated a new artificial intelligence (AI)-based tracking and decision-making system at the Prime Minister’s Office, marking a significant step toward digitizing governance and improving public sector performance.
According to government officials, the AI-powered platform has been developed to strengthen transparency, improve monitoring, and accelerate decision-making through real-time data analysis and automated accountability mechanisms.
Federal Minister for Planning Ahad Khan Cheema briefed the prime minister on the system, explaining that it was created in line with Shehbaz Sharif’s vision of integrating modern technology into government operations.
He said the platform would help policymakers make informed decisions by providing data-driven insights, tracking the implementation of projects, and measuring outcomes across various government departments.
Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima also highlighted the government’s broader digital transformation agenda during the briefing.
She said the government is introducing advanced technologies across multiple sectors, with digitization remaining a key priority to improve efficiency and transparency.
Shaza Fatima added that Pakistan’s largest social protection programme has already been digitized, enabling better service delivery, enhanced monitoring, and greater transparency for beneficiaries.
Officials believe the new AI-based governance system will strengthen evidence-based policymaking, improve coordination among ministries, and ensure faster implementation of government initiatives.
The platform is expected to play a central role in monitoring performance, identifying delays, and supporting more effective governance through the use of artificial intelligence and data analytics.
