Rapper David Anthony Burke, professionally known as D4vd, is scheduled to make his first court appearance in Los Angeles on Tuesday, July 21, following his arrest earlier this year.
According to court records, prosecutors have charged Burke in connection with the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose remains were reportedly discovered in a vehicle at an impound lot in Los Angeles in September 2025. Burke has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Prosecutors allege that the victim died at Burke’s residence and have presented their version of events as part of the ongoing criminal case. The allegations have not been proven in court, and the case remains pending.
The court proceedings follow several delays that were reportedly linked to the volume of evidence collected during the investigation. Burke, 21, has remained in custody since his arrest and is being held without bail.
If convicted, he could face severe penalties under California law. However, no verdict has been reached, and the legal process is ongoing.
The Los Angeles Police Department previously announced that human remains had been recovered during the investigation, leading to the criminal charges against Burke.
The preliminary court hearing is expected to continue through July 25, when additional evidence may be presented and the court will determine the next steps in the case.
As the proceedings continue, Burke remains presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
