The Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) has announced a planned power shutdown in parts of its service area to carry out repair, maintenance, and development work on electricity infrastructure.
According to the Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) Construction, electricity supply will remain suspended from the Kuluwal and Down Stream feeders on several dates in July.
The scheduled power outage will take place from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm on July 15, 19, 22, 26, and 29.
GEPCO said the temporary suspension of electricity is necessary to complete maintenance work and improve the reliability of the power distribution system. The company regularly carries out such work to ensure the safe and efficient operation of electricity lines.
The maintenance activities will include repairs, technical inspections, and development work on the affected feeders. These upgrades are intended to improve the overall performance of the electricity network and reduce the chances of unexpected outages in the future.
Consumers living in areas connected to the Kuluwal and Down Stream feeders are expected to experience temporary interruptions during the announced hours. Electricity services are expected to resume after the maintenance work is completed.
GEPCO has advised residents and businesses in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements before the scheduled shutdown. Consumers should plan ahead to reduce inconvenience during the five-hour power suspension.
The company also requested public cooperation while technical teams complete the planned work. Officials said the maintenance schedule is important for improving service quality and maintaining a stable electricity supply.
Planned outages are a routine part of electricity system maintenance. They allow engineers to safely inspect and repair equipment without risking damage to the network or the safety of workers.
GEPCO has encouraged consumers to stay informed about scheduled maintenance notices and follow official updates regarding electricity services in their areas.
