The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has announced a special three-day traffic management plan to facilitate the smooth movement of foreign delegations visiting the federal capital. The temporary traffic arrangements will remain in place from 8:00 a.m. on July 11 until 12:00 midnight on July 13.
According to an ITP spokesperson, traffic diversions will be implemented on several key roads during this period. Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes and plan their travel in advance to avoid congestion and delays.
Under the traffic plan, vehicles traveling from Suhrawardy Chowk toward Serena Chowk will be diverted, with Embassy Road designated as the recommended alternate route.
Similarly, traffic moving along Constitution Avenue from France Turn to Serena Chowk will also be redirected. However, authorities have confirmed that one-way traffic will continue to operate on the affected stretch throughout the diversion period to reduce disruption.
Commuters traveling from Aabpara via Srinagar Highway toward Serena Chowk will be redirected through Seventh Avenue, which has been identified as the preferred alternative route.
In addition, motorists coming from Kashmir Chowk and heading toward Serena Chowk will also be diverted through Seventh Avenue. The Islamabad Traffic Police has requested drivers to carefully follow traffic signs and cooperate with officers deployed at diversion points.
The ITP has urged residents and visitors to allow extra travel time while moving around the city during the three-day period. Officials emphasized that these temporary arrangements are being implemented to ensure the safe and smooth movement of official foreign delegations while minimizing inconvenience to the public.
To help commuters stay informed, the Islamabad Traffic Police has advised citizens to follow its official WhatsApp Channel or tune in to ITP FM 92.4 for real-time traffic updates, route information, and travel advisories.
Authorities have also appealed to motorists to follow traffic instructions, remain patient, and cooperate with traffic personnel to ensure the successful implementation of the temporary traffic management plan.
