Toyota Corolla Cross HEV Prices Increased After GST Relief Ends

Buyers planning to purchase the Corolla Cross HEV will now have to pay significantly higher prices. Indus Motor Company (IMC) has increased the prices of its locally assembled hybrid SUV lineup following changes in the government’s tax policy.

The revised Retail Selling Prices (RSPs) came into effect on July 1, 2026. The latest increase applies only to the hybrid variants of the Corolla Cross HEV. Petrol models have not received any price changes.

According to the updated price list, the Corolla Cross HEV X now costs Rs. 10,299,000. Its previous price was Rs. 8,935,000, meaning buyers will pay Rs. 1,364,000 more.

The standard Corolla Cross HEV is now priced at Rs. 9,849,000. Earlier, it was available for Rs. 8,535,000. This represents a price increase of Rs. 1,314,000.

The sharp increase follows changes introduced under the Federal Budget 2026–27. The government has withdrawn the reduced General Sales Tax (GST) rate that was previously available for locally assembled hybrid vehicles.

The lower GST rate was introduced to encourage the use of environmentally friendly vehicles in Pakistan. With the tax concession now ending, hybrid vehicles are subject to the standard GST rate. This has directly increased the cost of the Corolla Cross HEV and other locally assembled hybrid models.

Indus Motor Company said the revised prices apply to all new bookings made on or after July 1, 2026. The prices are subject to vehicle availability at the time of booking.

The company clarified that the listed prices are Ex-Factory Karachi. They include Sales Tax, Federal Excise Duty (FED), Capital Value Tax (CVT), and the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) Levy.

However, buyers will have to pay several additional charges separately. These include transportation costs, transit insurance, and Advance Income Tax or Withholding Tax (WHT). The tax amount will depend on whether the customer is registered as a filer or non-filer.

IMC also stated that the announced prices are provisional. The final delivery price may change if the government revises taxes, duties, import policies, or foreign exchange rates before the vehicle is delivered.

The latest revision reflects the impact of changes in Pakistan’s tax policy on the local automobile market. The Corolla Cross HEV remains one of the country’s popular hybrid SUVs, but the removal of tax incentives has made it considerably more expensive for new buyers.

Customers planning to book the Corolla Cross HEV should carefully review the updated pricing and additional charges before placing an order, as future government policy changes could further affect the final cost.
