Sindh Police have blacklisted 40,000 vehicles in Karachi under the Safe City project and announced that action against the identified vehicles will begin from July 1. The move is part of efforts to improve vehicle registration compliance and strengthen law enforcement through the city’s surveillance and monitoring system.
According to police officials, the blacklist includes thousands of vehicles that were sold to new owners but were never officially transferred into their names. Authorities said incomplete ownership records create legal and security challenges, making it difficult to accurately identify vehicle owners when required.
Officials further stated that vehicles with pending government dues or unresolved registration issues have also been included on the blacklist. The review process has now been completed, and the final list of non-compliant vehicles has been prepared for enforcement action.
Under the planned crackdown, police may seize blacklisted vehicles found on roads after July 1. Owners could also face financial penalties and other legal consequences if they fail to regularize their vehicle records before the deadline.
Sindh Police have urged citizens to verify their vehicle information through the official police portal as soon as possible. Authorities stressed that vehicle owners should ensure all ownership and registration details are properly updated to avoid inconvenience during enforcement operations.
The initiative is part of broader efforts under the Safe City project to improve public safety, strengthen record management and enhance the monitoring of vehicles across Karachi. Police have advised affected owners to complete the ownership transfer process and clear any outstanding dues before July 1 to prevent their vehicles from being seized or fined.
