Meera Challenges Gen Z, Says Veterans Still Lead

Pakistani actress Meera has challenged the younger generation of actors and filmmakers, saying that emerging talent still has a long way to go before matching the achievements of experienced artists in the industry.

Speaking during a recent podcast appearance, Meera shared insights into her long career, memorable film projects, and views on the evolving entertainment landscape. She reflected on some of her most notable collaborations and praised several of her former co-stars.

Recalling her work in the film Khoay Ho Tum Kahan, Meera said that working alongside actor Babar Ali was a memorable experience. She also spoke about Inteha, describing it as her first project with Humayun Saeed and other respected senior performers. According to the actress, those films remain important milestones in her career.

During the conversation, Meera addressed Gen Z filmmakers and actors directly. She urged them not to underestimate the older generation and encouraged them to prove their abilities through quality work. She suggested that young creators should study successful films such as Psycho and strive to produce projects that surpass them in creativity and impact.

Meera further stated that healthy competition is always welcome in the film industry. She challenged young actors and filmmakers to compete with veteran stars, including herself and Shaan Shahid, through strong performances and meaningful storytelling.

The actress expressed confidence in her generation’s contribution to Pakistani cinema while encouraging newcomers to raise industry standards. She concluded by saying that she is ready to embrace competition and support any effort that helps improve the quality of local filmmaking.
