Islamabad Traffic Police Issue Fresh Travel Advisory for Key Roads

ISLAMABAD – Residents of Islamabad are facing traffic diversions and congestion on several major roads, including Srinagar Highway, Murree Road, and Club Road, following temporary traffic management arrangements announced by authorities.

According to traffic officials, diversions have been introduced to manage vehicle flow and reduce congestion on busy routes during ongoing activities and increased movement in the federal capital.

Authorities advised commuters to remain cautious while traveling through affected areas and encouraged citizens to use alternative routes where possible to avoid delays.

Officials said traffic flow on Srinagar Highway has been partially diverted at selected points, leading to slow movement during peak hours. Murree Road and Club Road are also experiencing temporary restrictions and lane adjustments due to security and operational arrangements.

Traffic police stated that additional personnel have been deployed at key intersections and major roads to help manage vehicle movement and guide commuters toward alternate routes. Citizens traveling between Islamabad and Rawalpindi have been advised to plan their journeys in advance, particularly during office hours and evening rush periods when traffic pressure is expected to increase further.

Authorities also urged drivers to cooperate with traffic officials, follow diversion signs, and avoid unnecessary travel on congested routes whenever possible.

According to officials, emergency services and public transport vehicles are being facilitated to minimize disruption for daily commuters. The traffic advisory comes as Islamabad continues to witness increased vehicle movement ahead of Eid-ul-Azha and related activities across the twin cities.

Traffic police added that real-time updates regarding road closures, diversions, and alternative travel routes are being shared through official social media channels and public announcements.

Commuters were also advised to ensure proper vehicle fitness and maintain patience while traveling through affected areas to avoid accidents and further congestion. Authorities said the temporary diversions will remain in place until traffic conditions normalize and operational requirements are completed.
