Sindh Announces Summer Vacations Schedule for Schools 2026

The Sindh government has officially announced summer vacations for all schools across the province. The decision has been taken due to rising temperatures and heatwave conditions in many areas.

According to the Sindh Education Department, summer vacations will start from June 1. These holidays will continue until July 31. The notification applies to all public and private schools across Sindh.

Officials said the step was taken to protect students and teachers from extreme weather conditions. Many regions in Sindh are currently facing very high temperatures. Health experts have also warned about heat-related risks.

The government said the summer vacations schedule will help reduce health issues during the peak summer season. Schools have been instructed to fully follow the official announcement.

Education authorities added that academic activities will resume after July 31. Schools are expected to adjust their academic calendars to complete the syllabus after reopening.

Meanwhile, the Punjab government has also announced its own summer vacations schedule for schools. The decision was taken due to similar heatwave conditions in the province.

According to Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, schools will close from May 22. All public and private educational institutions will follow this schedule.

He further confirmed that schools in Punjab will reopen on August 24 after the summer vacations period ends. The long break is aimed at ensuring student safety during extreme heat.

Officials in both provinces said the decisions were necessary due to worsening weather conditions. They emphasized that student health remains the top priority.

Parents have largely welcomed the announcements. Many believe that summer vacations will help children avoid exposure to dangerous heat levels.

Education experts say such seasonal breaks are common in regions with extreme summer temperatures. They add that schools may later adjust timings or workloads to cover missed lessons.

School administrations in Sindh have started preparing for the break. They are issuing notices and completing academic work before the start of summer vacations.
