Pakistan Suspends Passport Services at All Foreign Missions Due to Technical Issue

The government has temporarily suspended Passport processing services at all Pakistan foreign missions. The decision was announced through official notices issued by several overseas embassies.

According to the notices, the suspension is due to technical issues at Passport Headquarters in Islamabad. The problem has affected operations at foreign missions across different countries.

Officials confirmed that all Passport services at embassies and consulates will remain halted until further notice. No new applications or processing is currently being handled.

The authorities said that the resumption of Passport services will be announced later. Updates will be shared through official social media platforms and communication channels.

In the United Arab Emirates, the Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi had already informed citizens about the suspension earlier. It stated that Passport processing was stopped due to technical and maintenance issues.

Similarly, the Embassy of Pakistan in Muscat also issued a notice. It confirmed that Passport operations in Oman have been suspended due to the same technical problems at Islamabad headquarters.

Both missions expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to applicants. They said the issue is beyond their control and linked to central system maintenance.

Officials assured that Passport services will resume once the technical problem is resolved. However, no specific timeline has been provided for restoration.

Applicants who planned to apply or collect their Passport documents have been advised to wait. They are encouraged to follow official updates for further instructions.

The suspension has affected Pakistani citizens living abroad who rely on embassies for Passport services. Many routine applications and renewals are currently on hold.

Authorities have urged the public to remain patient during this period. They emphasized that resolving the technical issue is a priority for the Passport system.

Once the system is restored, all Passport services at foreign missions will resume in phases. Embassies will inform applicants immediately after operations restart.
