Atlas Honda is considering entering Pakistan’s premium motorcycle segment with the possible launch of 250cc and 500cc motorcycles. The company said it may introduce these larger-engine models if demand for high-capacity bikes continues to increase.
The update was shared during the Atlas Honda MY26 corporate briefing attended by Topline Securities. Company management said the growing popularity of premium motorcycles has encouraged it to explore expanding its product portfolio beyond its traditional offerings.
According to company officials, rising overseas remittances have helped increase purchasing power among consumers. This trend has contributed to stronger demand for motorcycles with larger engines, creating opportunities in the premium segment.
If market demand continues to grow, Atlas Honda could add both 250cc and 500cc motorcycles to its local lineup. Such a move would represent a major step for the company, which has long focused on commuter motorcycles in Pakistan.
Along with discussing new products, the company also shared details about its production expansion plans. Atlas Honda currently has an annual production capacity of 1.65 million motorcycles.
The company is investing in a capacity expansion project that will increase annual production to 2 million motorcycles by December 2026. The project is expected to cost between Rs. 5 billion and Rs. 6 billion.
Management said the company is currently producing more motorcycles than its rated capacity. It has been able to meet strong customer demand through overtime production and support from its network of vendors and suppliers.
The briefing also highlighted the recovery of Pakistan’s motorcycle market. According to the company, the overall two-wheeler market has recovered to around 2.3 million units.
At the same time, sales of Chinese motorcycle brands have declined from their previous peak levels. Company officials said motorcycles with engine capacities above 100cc continue to capture a larger share of the market as customer preferences change.
Atlas Honda believes the demand for bigger motorcycles is increasing because buyers are looking for improved performance and better riding experience. This trend has encouraged the company to evaluate new opportunities in higher-displacement motorcycles.
The company also discussed its plans for electric vehicles. Management said no additional investment is currently planned for electric motorcycle production. It believes its existing production facilities are sufficient to meet expected demand for electric two-wheelers.
Officials also noted that the company has not increased motorcycle prices over the past three years, except for adjustments caused by government taxes and levies.
Looking ahead, Atlas Honda remains optimistic about market growth. The company expects improving farm incomes and stable consumer demand to continue supporting motorcycle sales across Pakistan.
