Sindh Announces Affordable Electricity Plan via Provincial Grid System

The government of Sindh has announced a new plan to generate and distribute affordable electricity. The initiative aims to reduce power costs for consumers and support industrial growth across the province.

The proposal includes a provincial transmission and distribution system. Officials say this system will improve efficiency and help reduce electricity losses in the network.

Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah shared details of the plan during a meeting at the CM House. He met the Danish Ambassador Maja Derrous Mortensen to discuss energy cooperation and investment opportunities.

The Sindh government is working on setting up a provincial transmission company. This company will manage electricity distribution within the province. The goal is to provide cheaper and more reliable electricity to households and industries.

Officials said the plan focuses on improving generation efficiency. It also aims to reduce distribution costs and minimize line losses across the system.

A key part of the strategy is renewable energy development. The chief minister highlighted Sindh’s strong potential in wind energy. The coastal areas of the province are especially suitable for wind power projects.

The government invited Danish companies to invest in wind energy and other green initiatives in Sindh. The aim is to promote sustainable development and attract foreign investment.

The Danish ambassador showed interest in the renewable energy sector. She said Denmark is ready to support environmentally friendly projects in Pakistan, especially in wind power development.

Both sides agreed that cooperation in green energy can create new investment opportunities. It can also strengthen economic ties between Pakistan and Denmark.

The meeting also covered the Keti Bandar development project in Sindh. The government plans to upgrade it into a modern deep-sea port.

Officials said this project could reduce pressure on Karachi’s ports. It may also help improve trade routes and regional connectivity.

The ambassador acknowledged the importance of the project. She said it could contribute to economic growth in the region.

Both parties agreed to expand cooperation in energy, infrastructure, and investment sectors in Sindh. They also noted 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Denmark.
