The Higher Education Commission has introduced a new online system for degree attestation, eliminating the need for applicants to physically visit HEC offices. The digital platform officially came into effect on May 1 and is expected to simplify the verification process for students and graduates across Pakistan.
According to officials, the newly launched system allows users to submit degree attestation and verification requests completely online. Applicants can now upload required documents, complete verification steps, and track application progress remotely without the hassle of repeated office visits and lengthy waiting periods.
The commission says the initiative is part of broader efforts to modernize public services and improve accessibility through digital transformation. Thousands of applications are submitted to HEC every year, and the previous manual process often created delays, overcrowding, and additional travel expenses for applicants from distant cities.
Under the updated system, applicants are expected to benefit from a faster and more convenient process. Officials believe the digital platform will significantly reduce processing time while improving overall transparency and operational efficiency in the attestation procedure.
The new online service is also expected to lower costs for students and professionals who previously had to travel long distances to reach HEC offices. By moving to a digital model, the commission aims to provide equal access to verification services for people living in remote and underserved areas of the country.
Education experts have welcomed the move, calling it an important step toward modern governance and efficient public service delivery. The online attestation system is likely to ease administrative burdens while helping students, job seekers, and overseas applicants complete their documentation process more smoothly.
