OPF Launches Scholarship Scheme for Overseas Pakistanis

The Overseas Pakistanis Foundation has launched a new scholarship program aimed at supporting families of overseas Pakistanis with rising education costs.

The initiative, introduced under the Overseas Pakistanis Education Fund (OPEF), will provide financial assistance to children and spouses pursuing intermediate, undergraduate, and postgraduate studies.

According to officials, the program covers a wide range of fields, including MBBS, BDS, engineering, and master’s level programs, expanding access to quality education.

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must have secured at least 60 percent marks or a minimum 2.5 CGPA in their most recent academic results.

Authorities also stated that either a parent or spouse must be a registered member of the OPF, which requires a valid Protector of Emigrants stamp.

Additionally, the scheme includes an income limit, making only those families eligible whose monthly income is below Rs200,000.

Officials clarified that students already receiving another scholarship during the same academic year will not be eligible for this program.

Special provisions have also been included for children of deceased OPF members, allowing them to apply under compassionate grounds.
