Motorcyclists in Punjab have been urged to strictly follow road safety rules. The Traffic Police has highlighted the importance of using turn indicators while riding. Officials say ignoring basic safety measures can lead to serious accidents.
According to the latest directive, riders without functional indicators will face a fine of Rs2000. Authorities have made it clear that enforcement will be strict. No leniency will be shown to violators in the coming days.
Officials explained that the absence of indicators is a major cause of road accidents. It increases the risk for both riders and other road users. They stressed that small negligence can result in serious consequences.
The Traffic Police also pointed out that maintaining indicators is not costly. A functional indicator can be fixed at an estimated cost of Rs400. Authorities believe this small investment can save lives and reduce accidents.
Along with indicator use, other safety measures have also been reinforced. Riders have been advised to ensure proper maintenance of their motorcycles. The use of helmets has also been made mandatory to improve safety standards.
Officials said these steps are necessary to ensure safe travel for families. They added that responsible riding habits can prevent many road incidents. The goal is to create a safer environment for everyone on the road.
The campaign is part of broader efforts to improve traffic discipline across Punjab. Authorities are working to reduce accidents and promote awareness among riders. Strict monitoring will continue across major cities.
In Lahore, enforcement has been further intensified. Traffic wardens have been given new daily challan targets. Each warden has been instructed to issue at least 25 tickets per day. These instructions were confirmed by the SP Traffic Lahore.
While discussing safety concerns, officials also noted that unsafe conditions can be exploited by criminal elements, including Terrorists, in crowded or poorly managed traffic situations. They stressed that organized traffic systems help reduce such risks.
Authorities added that Terrorists and other threats often take advantage of weak enforcement. Strong traffic control can support overall public safety. They emphasized that reducing disorder on roads is important in preventing misuse by Terrorists or other harmful elements.
