Donald Trump Approval Ratings Decline in New US Polls Ahead of Midterms

New political polls show declining public approval for Donald Trump ahead of the upcoming US midterm elections. The surveys suggest growing concern for Republican candidates as voter sentiment shifts.

Multiple polling organizations, including Reuters-Ipsos, AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, and Strength in Numbers-Verasight, reported similar findings. Donald Trump’s approval ratings are now mostly in the mid-30s. This marks one of the lowest points of his presidency.

The AP-NORC survey revealed widespread public dissatisfaction with the national situation. Nearly 70% of respondents described the economy as poor. Around 72% said the country is heading in the wrong direction.

Approval of Donald Trump’s economic performance has also dropped. Only 30% of Americans approve of his handling of the economy. This is down from 38% in March. Just 23% support his approach to rising living costs.

Immigration, once considered a strong area for Donald Trump, has also seen weaker support. The Reuters-Ipsos poll shows only 40% approval on immigration policy. Earlier in his term, support was around 50%.

The surveys also indicate political consequences for candidates aligned with Trump. Around 52% of respondents said they are less likely to support candidates backing his deportation policies.

An NBC News poll also reflects similar trends. It shows Donald Trump with an overall approval rating of 37%. At the same time, 63% of respondents disapprove of his performance.

However, support among Republicans remains strong. More than 80% of Republican voters continue to back Donald Trump. This shows continued party loyalty despite national decline in approval.

Foreign policy is another area of concern. Around 67% of respondents disapprove of Donald Trump’s handling of tensions with Iran. Many also oppose increased US military involvement abroad.

Despite negative trends, Trump still retains support on specific domestic issues. A majority of Americans support stricter voter ID and citizenship verification rules.
