The federal government has announced a major development plan to transform Islamabad into a world-class city. The focus is on improving infrastructure, boosting tourism, and attracting foreign investment.
The decisions were made in a high-level meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. The meeting was held at the Capital Development Authority headquarters. Officials reviewed both ongoing and upcoming projects for Islamabad.
Under the new strategy, the government plans to promote the construction of five-star hotels. These projects will be developed through joint ventures with international companies. Officials said this step will help position Islamabad as a top tourism destination.
A zero-tax hotel policy has also been approved. This policy is designed to attract both local and foreign investors. Authorities believe it will support growth in the hospitality sector of Islamabad.
Officials also reviewed a five-star hotel project being developed with the Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI). They stressed the need to speed up construction work. Timely completion was described as a key priority for Islamabad development.
To improve transparency, the government has approved a detailed land and property survey. The Survey of Pakistan will carry out this work. It will help improve planning and record management in Islamabad.
A dedicated marketing team will also be created. This team will promote upcoming property auctions. It will also work to attract more investors to development projects in Islamabad.
In another major step, authorities approved a central control room for emergency services. It will operate under the Safe City system. This is expected to improve safety and emergency response in Islamabad.
Officials said the overall plan aims to modernize urban infrastructure. It also focuses on providing international-standard facilities for citizens and visitors.
